Guest of Honor

Museum Founder, Feminist, Artist

Marianne Pitzen

We are proud to announce that Marianne Pitzen, a renowned German artist, will be the guest of honor for the third edition of EHAF. Born in Stuttgart in 1948, Pitzen demonstrated her proactive nature early on, holding her first official art gallery exhibit shortly after her 21st birthday. Recognizing the lack of female influence in the art world during the late 1970s, she founded the Bonn Women’s Museum, which has since become a vital institution addressing not only the representation of women in art but also a wide range of feminist issues, including the emotional, psychological, spiritual, physical, social, and educational oppression of women. Pitzen’s work underscores the “utter foolishness” of limiting a nation’s talent through male chauvinism, highlighting the importance of empowering women in all aspects of society.
